• How is BrainMoves Different from Other Programs?

Other programs offer in-person classes of movements for school-age children but the movements are too difficult for most preschoolers to do. BrainMoves was developed specifically to meet the needs of preschoolers no matter where they are in their development.  You won’t find another program like it. It is a complete program for helping preschoolers do better, learn better and feel better. I recently converted my Zoom classes into this online format to make it more accessible.

  • Why have I never heard of BrainMoves?

I’ve spent the last 25 years developing this system through one-on-one work with clients and teaching teachers, occupational and physical therapists, psychotherapists, and parents. While my BrainMoves Course is new to the online world, it’s based on decades of proven research in many different areas of brain development, the physical skills needed for learning, child development, kinesiology, and psychology. Now, with BrainMoves, I’m ready to bring this powerful tool to a wider audience.

  • I wish I were calmer and more focused.  Is there a BrainMoves for adults?

Although this system is designed for preschoolers, I use BrainMoves myself every day to manage stress, stay positive, and boost productivity. Over the years, I’ve noticed remarkable improvements in my memory, a 95% reduction in stress, and increased creativity and problem-solving abilities. It’s a powerful tool for both kids and adults!

  • How do I know BrainMoves will work for me?

I’ve helped hundreds of people achieve their goals using the same methods taught in this course, and the feedback is consistently positive. People are amazed at how simple, yet effective the movements are, and they’re excited about the immediate results they see in their children’s focus, behavior, and engagement.

  • A lot of my students are showing signs of neurodiversity. Can BrainMoves help them?

    Yes.

The earlier you start using BrainMoves with them, the better. Their brains are still plastic and in their early development, so the movements will help give them the foundational neural structures, pathways, and connections that they need now to master their developmental milestones. These foundational neural structures are essential for building the proper cross-lateral neural pathways that they will need later in life and in school.

BrainMoves has movements to help with many problems that children with neurodiverse brains experience. Hyperactivity, meltdowns, distractibility, problems with focus and listening, poor organizational skills, and mood swings are just some of the issues with which BrainMoves can help these children.

  • I’m already pressed for time each day in my classroom. How do I make time for adding movements to my schedule?

BrainMoves will save you time, not take it away.

When children are listening, paying attention, able to focus and stay calm you can easily transition between activities. When they are cooperating and easily reaching their developmental milestones, learning and teaching becomes fun and easy.

Instead of using up time to address problems in your classroom several times a day, you can spend your time teaching and helping them grow. You are able to move smoothly throughout all your planned activities.

Most of the movements take less than a minute to demonstrate, measure and do, so you are not investing a lot of time into the program, yet you are seeing results, which gives you more time to teach and interact positively with your class.

  • How do I use the movements in my daily schedule?

There are many ways you can add the movements to your schedule. You can do the six StartUp movements at the beginning of the day to help the children get ready for learning. You can also do these movements after recess or to help with transitions between activities.

You can use the movements with the whole group to prepare them for the next activity. For example, if it is story time, then you can do the Koala Cub to help them listen and the Duckling to help them focus. You can also ask a child to do a movement on their own if you notice that they are struggling with the lesson that the class is doing, like tracing letters or numbers or having trouble holding a crayon. If one or more children are hyperactive, you can ask them to do the Skunk, the Toucan and/or the Bear Cub to help calm and slow them down.

You can also use the BrainMoves coloring pages and animal stories to offer activities to help the class feel ownership of the movements and to make them their own.
